How do include images in my posts?

I am familiar with HTML, but do not know how to upload images to go with my messages.

Also, is it fair use to use captured frames from copyrighted DVD and VHS?

Hey jeffbert,

To include images, you need to use the [IMG] tag like so:[IMG]http://www.server.com/image.gif[/IMG]

At the moment there's no way to attach an image to your post, so you'll need to find a place to store them online. I may change this in the future depending on how things go.

Also, is it fair use to use captured frames from copyrighted DVD and VHS?I don't see why not. I'd probably be doing the same thing if I had a capture card :)

It's not a problem so long as you're not making a profit from it, nor are you stopping the owners from making a profit from their product.

well if you record VHS episodes of astroboy and distribute them for free on the net..you could get into trouble right? :huh:

Technically, yes. But the chances of it happening are minimal.

We're certianly not about to do it though. But there are episodes out there if you look hard enough ;)

I have all 51 episodes of the 80s dub on factory made VHS, 26 of the 80s DVD, and 30 of the 60s also on factory made VHS. I only want to be sure that grabbing frames and uploading the images to my web page bothers no one. If I made my own Astroboy site, and I might, I would include links to online stores that sell the videos. However, as I am only using the web space as storage for pics that will be accessed by this site, I have questioned about the legality. If you allow the links to Amazon and other sources, I would be assured that no one would be offended. :unsure:

Which images did you have in mind?

There aren't that many to choose from I spose (I took all the gallery images off to use in the episode guide I'm working on), and most of the leftovers were made specifically for the website...

Though if you let me know which ones you were thinking of using, I could send you the orginial, unedited version of the image.

that would be great..but after you have said that, it made me think that there arent too much picture i can use here. :P ...you have desktop theme anyways? :D
