Does anyone know when the english version of the 80's Astroboy series is going to be released on DVD in Australia? I realise the US and UK already has the 80's series on DVD - is there plans to release it here soon?

There was a rumour that it was coming out in June last year, but nothing came of it. I'm still holding out hope it will happen, especially with the current Astroboy revival of interest. After all, the original Transformers and Battle of the Planets and other titles have come out.

Oh really? Tell me where I can get these DVDs here in the US. If I can get my hands on them I could.

Currently there are no DVD releases of any Astroboy series in any country that have English language dubbing.

Astro is one of the most popular anime characters you'd think companies would have the brains to re release them.

i want mine on dvd as well. but im just settling for video atm. i will get the dvd version if it is ever released.

maybe if the new series becomes popular enough here, they may release it (here's hoping).

maybe get onto siren or sony entertainment , and demand them to release it.

Does anybody know who sells the 80's series in the US? I didn't know this. I will definitely buy it if it is for sale.

It was manga.com, but I can't find it on their website now. Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000063K4N/qid=1083744795/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-8726808-8522415?v=glance&s=video) are selling them though.

There's no Australian distributor for the 60s series. Your best shot is buying internationally through The Right Stuf (http://www.rightstuf.com/), although the tape trader (http://www.alphalink.com.au/~roglen/tapetrading.htm) mentioned in another thread is Australia based.

I saw a DVD of the new Astroboy series in an anime shop in Chinatown, Sydney, but I think it might have been in Japanese.

I hope the 80s series will be made into a DVD!!
