RightStuf boxsets are usually not too expensive, especially as they're often on sale. For example, the first Rose of Versailles set has twenty episodes and it's on sale for $30. (Granted, it's also listed as a Limited Edition, so a cheaper edition will probably be released in a few years.)

This is definitely on my to-buy list when it comes out, and the price isn't too bad. ( It's up for pre-order here, for the curious. ) Hopefully RightStuf posts a trailer so I can get an idea of what the video quality is like, and looking at the official site, the quality of the screencaps look decen...

Now that that site seems to be behaving, I can reply to this! I did enjoy the dub a lot more than I expected. I watched nearly half of it a few months ago when I checked out the DVD set from a nearby library, and I would like to own the set someday so I can watch all the episodes. Anyway, I do agree...

Geez, I go to bed and then wake up to old-school dub bashing. Hilarious. (And I'm not being sarcastic here, though I do find it annoying my post devolved into squee-hashing.) Of course, it just means more Princess Knight for me! And it's fun to watch people go on about conspiracy theories.

Doesn't bother me at all, especially since I was interested in checking out the dub after I read the manga, so this is great news for me. Old-school dubs are pretty fascinating.

[QUOTE=GreenDarthVader;202110]Personally, it depends what you mean by "good." I will say this: it is probably unlike any other dub you've heard. There are some voices that are awesome, some that are stale, and some so bad they're good. It runs the full spectrum. You've got to experience it for your...

You might have found some of these threads already, but I decided to search for all the threads related to the 1980 cast that I could think of. Here you go! About the pilot. A thread all the way from 2005! Another early thread. Lots of commentary about the dub. And even more info! This stuff is real...

I think this summed up a lot of the reasons why Tenma is my favorite character. :D (I'm a little surprised by how popular he is, but I'm not complaining.) I do agree that Tenma comes across as more antagonistic than outright villainous in the 2003 series, though he does become more villainous as he ...
