I'm actually getting a little hopeful that this movie will bring about interest in the original series, optimally with younger viewers. You guys have no idea how many times I've had to explain to my brother or sister's friends just who Astro is.

But still, some of the designs are yucky. I wonder if a picture of Tobio (or, Toby) will hit the internet...?

In defense on the sleazy appearance of Hamegg, it really adds character/personality to him. I really like what they did with Dr Elefun. Tobio will probably look exactly the same as Astro. I'm guessing the only difference is the hair style. On whether or not the new characters will work remains to be seen. Its too early to say.
