The 1980's "time machine" episode had Astro, Uran, Blackjack, and Pinoko go back to the middle ages. That was NOT the only Astro anime episode that took place back then.....

In the 1963 series episode "The Terrible Time Gun" Astro and Dr. Elefun go back to the middle ages. In this episode Astro is seen not once, not twice but THREE TIMES using his fanny guns! (Ladd didn't cut them!)



Another interesting thing about this episode, anybody recognize this young lady?

Looks like the 1960's anime didn't have a set style for the design of the butt guns - Dragonrider's are "sleek" while the guns from Terrible Time Gun had "segments"

And YES it does look like Miss Magnet!! Of course, back then, THAT episode hadn't been created yet, so I guess this character is the original (I seem to think there was another girl who resembled the princess in Time Gun)

Also sometimes the guns shot bullets, sometimes they shot lasers!
Star Trek made the same mistake for the Enterprise's Phasers in one or two episodes (got the phasers mixed up with the photon torpedoes).

These two came from an episode of Kimba, where Hamegg playing a hunter, was watching an episode of Astro on TV.
