19, Robot Boy
19, Robot Boy
I wonder if any of you youngsters have had to fight a sibling over the TV remote control. It seems that everyone has his own TV, these days; if not, a home computer might work. When I was a kid, our family had one (1) TV, & there were 5 kids! And it was B&W, & did not get UHF well enough to bother with those channels!

My life is ruined!
Atom's choice is the news about a new space program:
The mama: 西野エリカ / Nishino Erika / Nishino Erika
The guy on screen: unidentified, but works for the space agency. Portrayed by a character called Devilcat.
The kid: 西野達夫 / Nishino Tatsuo / Tatsuo Nishino. he compares to the boy in 1963 series episode #90, Robot Fortress (81, Mystery of Amless Dam), named 子供ヤー坊 / Kodomo yā bō / Ya Bou, Children “野暮” (やぼ) yabo = "thoughtless”. Both boys end up in big trouble because they disguised themselves as robots.
Re: 19, Robot Boy
Mama discourages her son's imaginative play, she thinks he ought to pursue real science, as she did when she was a kid.
She also thinks of robots as tools, rather than as persons.
