As far as I know, the 2k series of Astroboy will end there. But in the last scene of the final episode, Astro said that "this is only the beginning of the dream" or something like that.

The choice is really up to you Mr. 1Magus. But if you ask me, I would definitely include Astro in the story. If you can, you could turn your fanfic when it's finished into a doujin!
