You're right about the copyright, Astrobuddy. Disney holds the licence for animated versions of Peter Pan. The actual story copyright belongs to the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, and they enforce it for the royalties. At the moment, Peter Pan remains under copyright in the USA and ...

What Nora said. Plus, his eyebrows and mouth and feet are bigger, and his eyes and head are smaller. Essentially, he's become a little less "anime". Also, his head is missing the reflective shine.

Madman Entertainment are re-releasing the 1980s series in two boxsets on October 7th 2009. No doubt to cash in on the movie.
