If I am not mistaken, Astro Boy would be as old as his physical appearance this year. He was built to look nine years old, and he would now be nine years old.

Having watched almost all of the 2003 anime, I must say that it is actually not that bad in my opinion. Even though Tezuka wasn't involved with it, I think Sony did a decent enough with the series.
