It really was a different role for Lamp(e) as a Gestapo agent, but one that fit him perfectly. Even though it was a more serious role (and he was drawn more real-life like than in any other Tezuka manga I've ever seen) he STILL gets to sprout his famous candle here and there (and in one scene anothe...

It makes sense that they picked his birth date to honor him with citizenship.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ATOM! :astro: Well drawn, Nice! Technically wouldn't today be Atom's anniversary not his birthday? It's the anniversary of his citizenship. His birthday would either be the date that Tezuka set for his creation (which probably varies according to which version of the Manga or Anime ...

One of the most popular classical pieces often played on the...

(Remember Iraq?). So it's not likely that they will do any real damage unless they actually managed to put a nuke in ...

Don't forget that they can also reuse the cells by combining them and overlaying new backgrounds, and also reverse the cells too. I'm sure Tezuka also used the traveling camera technique that Max Fisher used in Betty Boop.

I think each of the series has their strong and weak points. The 1963 series ran the longest and was the closest to Tezuka's original manga. But that isn't always a good thing, Tezuka rewrote the manga many times as the stories were re-released in newer collections. The animation in the 1980 series ...
