Black Jack: Angelus vel Everto
Materials: Graphite on Printer Paper
Time: 8.50 hours



Not exactly Tetsuwan Atomu related, although Black Jack has made cameo appearances in the anime in the past. Not all of the pictures here have been 100% Atomu-related anyways, right?

This was based on a theme I thought of one day of whether Black Jack is an angel or a demon.
Sometimes, he will go out of his way to help someone in need, even taking on pro bono cases. This side of him can be seen in such episodes as one in which he treats an injured Irimote cat, and another in which he treats a young girl based on another child's price of a mere 1000 yen.
However, he is very cold and thus his darker side can be seen. This is illustrated in instances such as one in which a desperate teacher calls him asking him to treat a child whose legs would otherwise be amputated, and he simply replies "Why should I care? Just cut [his legs] off."
When pressed to perform the operation, he demands the monstrous fee of 50,000,000 yen in return.

But how you see Black Jack is up to you.
Warm or cold, good or evil, angel or demon...

I welcome comments, etc. on this image. I worked very hard, so it'd be nice to hear what you think.

That. Is. AMAZING. I've always liked BJ - his design, his creepiness, his personality and all. I think your picture (and description) summed him up perfectly.

It is very well done. If I held a pencil for even 10 minute, I could hardly open my fingers to drop it. But you make me want to draw anyway.

After Mr. Skunk's wonderfully stylized picture of Skunk not too long, I tried Tick in a similar format. (I always find it hard placing his hair and nose correctly.) It didn't quite work (but it's bloody cute) so I added Tuck afterwards.


And a follow-up to the previous picture with Skunk and Harry at the hotel.
He wasn't careful.
And yes, that's intended to be an upside-down remote, not anything alive.

And this just in - I can't draw Tenma anymore!

EEEEK! So adorable! The Tick and Tuck one rocks my socks. And the bottom one is soooo cute.

I actually have the picture of Skunk and Harry on the train done (which is quick for me) and I can scan it in tomorrow.
