Give me a break! And don't get me started with this Big Brother thought control jive. Orwellian doublethink does not work in anime. This is the Tokyo Tower. The heart of anime. This is Boy goading. The driving of the human herd. Point out what you find, "inappropiate..." LOL  :whistling:

No, no. The Wonder Woman one was done by a Korean artist, and the Duke Red & Rock one was from a Japanese site (with a lot of touchy content, so I shouldn't post a link).

And to either new user:
a) No, Tezuka wasn't a pedophile, he just drew girls like that to either make them look cute, or to "entertain" the boy readers. (The original manga has Uran at about age eight, and the serialization magazine was for boys 7-12.)
b) And no, we aren't pedophiles, but we are very, very strange people. In a good way.

I believe in old cartoons it was considered "Cute" for little girls to expose their panties. Little Audrey did it, as did Minnie Mouse and not only was Tezuka heavily inspired by these old style cartoons, but it takes a lot more to offend Japan than it does us XD

Noooo~ Uran don't be a loli~~

and yeah it's true. Disney cartoons and old 50s cartoons loved exposing panties. I still found it a little odd...but I guess it isn't as bad looking at those other ones...Astroboy and Mickey mouse i guess can really be compared to simularities, though I think Astroboy has way more put into it...I mean a story and such.

Welcome to the forums, Wingoftheangel!

I think Shirley Temple often showed her panties or pantaloons as they were called back then, as her dresses were very short up until age 6 or 7. In the Baby Burlesks she and the other kids wore little more than oversized diapers and were cast in adult roles.

I think in little girls, this was indicative of innocence, as they were immodest, they were not the least bit bothered by any southren exposure. Also, they were rapidly outgrowing their clothes; hence their chubs were exposed. The Coppertone girl clearly shows no concern for her exposure, & this in nothing unusual in young childern.
