Okay aside from this. I was thinking about becoming an art tutor, for some extra cash. My dad says I should do it for free for a while so I can put it on my resume. What do you guys think about all this? Could I make any money as an art tutor?

I'd say you give good advice with art, and that pro-bono work may not be a bad idea to get experience under your belt... but regardless, always have your portfolio at hand. ;)

I think that's a great idea and a very smart way to make some money. Go ahead and do it for money, but I'd say try it with me for free so I can see if it will work out well XD

@GLAB
Sure, I would like to get some insight on art without taking art classes.

As a tutor, I would say charge at least $15 an hour. I have had other lessons for sports and while they are in a totally different category, it does make you think about price ranges. I have had many lessons that have had the price ranges of: 45mins: $70, 30mins: $30, 1hr: $15, 30mins: $50. But the coaches/mentors were at least 20 years old and some have had more experience than others which results in different price ranges. Age/necessity for money, experience, and quality are all factors in how prices are affected. For example, the coach that charged $15 dollars was 19yrs old and didn't really need money since he was going to college on a scholarship later on in the year and he did know a lot about what I needed help with (pitching). He also had good quality lessons and he only charged; $15. Doesn't really need money+moderately good experience+good quality lessons=less money. One of my other coaches(who I still go to for lessons) who charges $50 for 30mins had made it very far in the sport and has a lot of info, but he is older, maybe 30s and needs the money more, but he has A LOT of insight on what I need. Needs money+great experience+great quality lessons= More money.

Sorry, I know it's a lot, but I hope this helps ;)
