Seeing pictures like this, I get the feeling that you wouldn't be able to wander far in Japan without bumping into Astro's image SOMEWHERE!
He's probably more easily found in Japan than Mickey Mouse is in America!
(Probably because Disney is more Jealous of their copyrights than Tezuka Productions is)

If only Pinoko was as popular as Atom is in Japan.
Tezuka's works aren't that popular in Taiwan. Though here's this very good Black Jack fansite I found lately created by a Taiwanese woman (she goes by the pen name of "Yukiha") filled with inspirational fics:

I do like Mickey Mouse. But I like Uran and Atom better.

After a little research, I found out that statue is at Tezuka's old grad school. So, it' not just a random Atom statue XD
