So did I, but learning all the characters would be a bit of a challenge, but I do know some of the basic stuff that my uncle taught me including the characters for the vowels and a little bit of how japenese works and how Japanese was made, he didn't teach me much though
あ = a
い = i
う = u
え = e
お = o
