Dr. Fooler (as Minimini, here) had been after Atom since the manga adventure #27, Mad Machine (08/1958 - 09/1958) and had continued his pursuit in #28, Count Bat (09/1958 - 01/1959), in which Atom's legs were dissolved, & the 'kindly' Fooler just happened to have a chibi version of Atom, that Atom could control remotely. Same thing here, except for a few details. :astro:

Interesting circle here; this was obviously influenced by Futurama’s Parasites Lost, which aired 21 January 2001 (Season 3, Episode 4), which was itself influenced by Fantastic Voyage, which was allegedly based upon 88, Bacteria Corps (79, Mighty Microbe Army, September 26, 1964! Which omits mention of the two manga stories Tezuka drew during the 1950s!
