The 60s series didn't show how he got them. He went into the circus without boots, then in one fight scene he's wearing them and he has them from then on.

I just checked, and you are right. What is more Dr. Tenma did several times call him 'Astro'.
BTW, the episodes ran about 27 minutes back then! Compare that with the 21:45 of any Futurama episode. I assume that most other "half-hour" programs also run for just over twenty minutes.

Yeah, it's getting close on one third being commercials.
A quick look at the last 5 Simpsons episode lengths shown in Australia... 20:56, 20:56, 20:52, 20:56, 20:56. And we've had some Dragonball Z episodes run under 20 minutes in a 30 minute timeslot.

And the really   infuriating part   is that in a market-driven economy, the networks can charge whatever amount they want for a 30 second commercial spot. Thus, there is no need for 7 - 8 minutes of them! If 30% of the people view a particular program, the network sets the price for airtime accordingly. I really hate the Discovery Channels, Wings, Science, Times! These really abuse the viewers with 8 minute program segments, and 5 to 6 commercial interruptions per hour!     The networks could make just as much on the sale of commercial airtime with 2-3 minutes as with 7-8 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If advertisers believe they can reach a large number of consumers with this medium, they will pay the price to do so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa! I just watched that second episode.
*SPOILER*
Man, was I impressed. That has to be one of the best episodes that I've ever watched. So what if a robot kills it's master then itself. I could have handled it! It's a damn fine show. Thanks Anapan.

yxuz: Yup, I have them all. I'm only encoding the ones people request tho since they take awhile to encode, and all of them would be about 8.3 gigs @ the quality I've been doing them at.
Wicked Fierce: Yeah, I know, it was quite a shock the first time I saw it, because when I first got them I had no idea they edited the version I saw on TV. Definitely an awesome episode.

I found these titles on eDonky. With the 'ATOM' part in their names, I hope they have the Japanese audio.
Astroboy.ATOM. 1982 ep 28.avi
Astroboy.ATOM. 1982 ep 29.avi
Astroboy.ATOM. 1982 ep 30.avi
I do not know when the first one will finish downloading, but assuming they are Japanese audio, one need only view the English dubs first to know what is going on in them.
