I only encode episodes that are requested, so if you want more just let me know.

Do you have any 60s in Japanese? :o

Oh, is it really Cantonese? I knew the first audio channel was Cantonese (I cut it out while encoding because I preffer the Japanese voices) but I only know a little Kanji. When I saw a couple of characters I recognised I just assumed it was Japanese (of course Japanese Kanji was based on Chinese "han zi" so that's not too surprising...).

Anyway, I sorted them all out.

er...thats not really Cantonese, because Cantonese, or any other Chinese dialect, doesnt have proper words for writing(though HK ppl still manage to write in their own way, but its completely illegible for other Chinese ppl elsewhere <_< )

it is still the formal "Chinese"
but with only a bit of informal Cantonese usage and grammar

and please, never encode any Cantonese dub, I cant stand
(I didnt know you can switch audio channel in a VCD?)

oh. Guess I'll rename the files thrice. Since you seem to be knowledgable, I have a question: Is traditional Chinese the same language as Mandarin?

Heh, don't worry, I can't stand listening to the Cantonese track either.
Yeah, actually I'm pretty sure they're SVCD format. They have stereo audio, the left channel is Cantonese.

They must be from the old volumes because I have the first three volumes of the 80s Astroboy from Manga Entertainment. They contain 5 episodes each.

The US release (NTSC format) by Manga has 5 episodes per tape, and 6 episodes for the later tapes. The Australian release (PAL format) by Siren has 3 episodes per tape.

IMO, the US release is better because it contains the episode previews as seen in the original broadcast, plus the entire set of episode previews for the next tape at the end.

Is traditional Chinese the same language as Mandarin?

of course yes

traditional Chinese is "written"
as opposed to simplified Chinese

Mandarin is "spoken"
base on Pekinese as the official language
but slightly different from Peiking dialect

all the Chinese essays today
are written base on Mandarin speaking
