The clip of young Atlas that's shown in the English episode "Altas lives again" is a small peice of the second Japanese episode "Astro Boy vs Atlas". They cut all the rest of the stuff about him in that episode completely out of the English series AFAIK. You can get the Japanese version in the directory /80s/raw/ of my FTP.
Actually, he didn't create Livian, just rebuilt her (you'll see her first form in the 2nd Japanese episode too). I don't know which episode she first appears in her new form from either series, maybe someone else here could help with that info. If I don't have it on the FTP, I can always convert the Japanese one to AVI...
I haven't cut any of the credits off of the episodes I encoded, tho I think a couple of the English or french episodes I got from other sources might have them cut.

SoKn_Jedi said he's been regularly checking the IRC channel the subbers hang out at, so if there was any news he'd probably have posted it. In general, subbers usually don't like being asked when their stuff will be ready.
Yes, the files in the /new/raw/ folder are from the new series, tho they're not subbed (they're the same files the subbers are using for their releases).

Is the new series complete in Japan?

Why is it that under the 80's you have the atlas versus astroboy at episode 2 in your raw directory while under the 80's root directory the episode 2 is robot circus. Is this because you dont have the english dub of the atlas vs astroboy or because that episode was't release in english version.

I don't know if the series has run through completely in Japan, but I think that episodes up to around 16 have been released in raw Japanese form on e-donkey.

The episode numbers are different in the raw subdirectory because for some unknown reason the English translators decided to re-arrange the episodes to a completely different order from how the Japanese series was produced. I think they just cut a few important scenes with Astro from that episode into the first english episode.

Livian first appears in her new form in Crystal of the Desert.

Oh! The one where the tiny robot gopher gives Astro a spare battery? That was my favorite episode when I was a kid. I'll encode it next.

If you're having trouble accessing the FTP with your browser, you should try using an FTP client. some good ones have been mentioned in this thread earlier.

I believe you need the user name and password, which are both 'ast'

I have downloaded a few episodes using Opera browser, but have also experienced trouble. Sometimes the download zips along at 39 KB/second, and at that speed, takes only about 1.5 hours / episode (using broadband). However, there have been times when the speed went so low as to be reported as zero. I just cancel and try at another time. But when using the browser, I close all other pages/windows on it.

The slow speeds happen when I'm using Kazaa or Bit Torrent. My uploads are capped at around 80K/s.

I don't know where to find any other episodes from the English series.
If you're interested in ones with Japanese audio and Chinese subs, episode 6 is already on my FTP, in the /80s/raw/ subdirectory. I'll be encoding Astroboy vs Atlas 3 - Crystal of the Desert soon, and I'd be happy to do White Planet while I'm at it.
