Whenever I drew faces in any orientation other than right side up, I had to turn the paper around, so that I was in effect drawing right side up.

That was one of my greatest weaknesses.

I have the same thing, I cock the paper in all different angles, contort my head around my neck, angle the drawing board....nuts.

I think that's pretty normal. Our brain's ability to recognise faces (and thereby draw them) stops working once it goes past a certain angle of rotation.
