His name was "Billie" in the english version. Somewhere in Jay Rath's thread, he mentioned the first instance Billie was named, but I'll have to look though his episode reviews.

I thought his name was Freddie.

Yes, it was Freddie, at least in the US version.

I know in "The Hijacked Airship", Daddy Walrus explains that Sam wants to be a baseball player. In "Save the Carolina 3", Alvin says that Sam and Freddie are cowards. So, Sam is the one with the big chin and Freddie the other one.

That's my reference, but I'm sure Freddie's name is said in earlier episodes. I can't remember which ones though.

Thanks, but the only names I have in my notes of that ep:

Hayashi Midori (Mindy)
Tezuka Kenichi (Kenneth)
Osamu: at bat (Sam)
Noburo (Mitch): short & round tough kid resembles mayor

I need to review the E l version again, but I do not hope for anything I might have missed.

edit: oops, I missed the reference to "Save the--"
