This is an episode I really really REALLY hope I get to see one day (along with the rest of "The 89" episodes from the original anime never released outside of Japan). I've been scanning our forum for spammers, and just seeing how beautifully these episodes were drawn is really touching - they stand out from the rest. Such a shame they aren't in color, because they have a charm and warmth none of the other versions possess. They have the "Disney magic"

Yes, I agree that these episodes have what seems to be an increasing degree of Disney influence. Tezuka was a fan of Disney's animation long before he began this series, but it seems that those toward the series' end have more frequent [I cannot think of the proper word] 'nods' to Disney.Posted: Wed Dec 12, 2012 8:32 am
