It's not a very interesting story.

I watched it on TV back in the eighties. Recently, a friend's involvement in the fandom reminded me how good it was.

If that's too boring, I could always tell you the version that involves me, Masamune Shirow and several bottles of sake. (NB: While more interesting, this version is also technically false.)

*Edit: Damn. I keep forgetting that no one here knows I'm a chick. It would have sounded a bit strange otherwise. :-P

Masamune Shirow is the one who wrote Ghost in the Shell.
