A few weeks ago there was a thread on this forum in which some of our users mentioned they'd like to be allowed to discuss adult-oriented topics on this forum.
We (the moderators, actually three of the four of us, who in spite of apparences are still active) took the issue seriously and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of letting less "family friendly" topics take place on this forum. Mark (this site's owner) also took part in the discussion and we were glad he did since we wouldn't want to go against the opinion of the person who made (and still makes) this place possible.
We went from discussing some of our past decisions to trying to foresee what could happen if there were not limits. Ultimately it was very hard to agree on a precise line that we didn't want to cross as the potential topics and situations are limitless, but overall we felt we weren't comfortable with what could completely denature Astroboy.
So, we felt we could be a bit more lenient than we had been in the past (for example, some jokes in the Photoshop or Caption the picture games that were on the suggestive side would be okay), but having a discussion in which Astro would be engaged in sexual activity (in picture or in words) is so far from Astro's character that we felt it didn't suit this forum.
So, overall, no major changes have been made to the rule, just a bit of a less restrictive interpretation over the course of a regular discussion. We know this won't please everybody but we still wanted to let you know that we did take time to take this issue in consideration and see if it a change was suitable.
