:w00t:    Thanks for the laughs. It's the '59-'60 series, which ran for about 90 something episodes, I think. Looks like Astro combined with Flash Gordon. I have the theme song on cd, but it's sung by a chorus of kids, which I think is better. Maybe I have the ending theme. :astro:

Does anyone know where I can find this on dvd? :astro:

I saw it on Ebay before, but it wasn't an official copy. Some person (restored it, I think?) and put it on DVDs. I haven't seen it on there since February.

I've just watched it entirely. I have to say that you'd have to pay me to watch the entire movie! Some things are just not meant to be, like a real life Astro... Though with today's special effects, I might find such a movie almost watchable!

I had always wondered how it looked like. I guess I understand why I never caught it on TV!

I bought it off EBay from showavideo. There's one up for auction now.

It's okay I guess. It's a DVD authored from a VHS recording, with a printed label. The image and sound aren't very good, but the show has a reasonably good production value. The story is Fuhrer ZZZ, so it's pretty easy to follow if you have the manga.

I've also seen it on bittorrent.

I prefer the anime, but would nevertheless, watch this if I could. However, I have been staying away from auctions, & only buying the items that had the [buy now] option. :p

Yeah, that was Astro. Here's a picture of Dr Elefun (Dr O'Shay):
