& now, for the story itself:

This is the animated version of "The Melanin Tribe" (Darkhorse vol. 20), "The Melanin Family" TOW. The story takes place after The Blue Kinght & "Astro Boy Reborn" (both in Darkhorse vol. 19). As Dr. Tenma had repaired Atom on condition that his robot family be scrapped, & made him with anti-human attitudes, & no memories, he defied Tenma & decided to do as he pleased. Learning that he had a family Atom liberated them, and being scolded by papa, took Uranium & ran away from home.

He went to africa, & now we continue in pictures:

Awwww thanks! What's with the map? Those were all the countries who had Astroboy on TV at the time, I suppose?

Astro's design really didn't change much between 1963 and 1980. There's at least one of the drawers who I would swear worked on both!

It makes sense only if the dark areas represent those that had the tv show. :astro:

You should use 'whom' rather than 'who' in that instance.

Australia had it. Hmmmm, I'm pretty sure we're not that close to New Zealand.

Indeed, since at the very least Japan should have seen it. But then... hmmm, I don't know what that could be. All the countries Astro went to? Hmmmm, not sure that makes more sense either.

Thanks! :w00t: Yay, I learned something new today! :D

And I'm not living in the water either!

This one was first shown October 22, 1966; as it is 185/193, it is near the series end. #1 ran January 1, 1963, so this is over 3 1/2 years later. Neither Australia nor Britain are dark. Hmm, :p irate: makes one wonder.

I wonder if it's places from around the world their staff come from?
