The 2009 Movie Teaser!

Postby Fauna » 16 years ago

I found this on the 'Net...

Never have I been so excited and worried.
I heard there's a few pictures in April 2007's Animation Magazine, so I'll hunt that down.
What's everybody else thinking about the movie? Or the pictures?

I hadn't seen it before... Wow... Not sure if I'll be able to get used to watching Astro like this!

There's no way I won't watch that movie though! :)

Thanks Fauna.

Someone else? Aw, crap. Anyway, I checked and it's directed by Colin Brady, written by Michael Lachance and Gennedy Whatsisname.

Colin Brady :( (sigh) You know, I kinda wished I was making the Astro Boy movie. I'm writing it right now. Don't know what to do now.

Is the movie still going to be CGI all the way?

From what I've heard, yes. Something tells me it's going to be similar to how they made TMNT.

Well, Im not to sure what to think yet. I'd rather wait until i've seen it until i can decide weather or not this is a Good Thing or a Bad thing...

I want to ask a few qustions.

How much of a hit do you think it will be?
and will it be in the UK?

I hope it is good, even if it made by some one else, he or she might give it a new twist.

It seems to me that rather than translate the Japanese movie, they made their own. Presumibly it has a plot more appealing to Americans, but since it was in planning stages since long before the 2003 TV series & the movie that followed, I cannot be certain. I fear that it will be disappointing, & also that they will not soon import the Japanese movie. :astro:

The movie is being produced by Imagi studios, the same people that made TMNT. There's a press release (PDF) on their website announcing it. (they're also making Gatchaman - aka Battle of the Planets, thread discussion here)

Now personally I enjoyed the heck out of the TMNT movie, so that gives me some hopes towards it :)
