Hey guys, I was hunting down movie information this evening. I went here, and inevitably when I saw this:

"Similar to 'Spider-Man' or the first 'Superman,' it makes sense to start with the origin story," revealed Brady. "Although I admit that I thought it would be fun to simply start with the sequel. 'AstroBoy' is kind of a dark Pinocchio story, but unlike Pinocchio, Astro never can become real flesh and blood. Astro's journey of self discovery and acceptance is directly linked to the hardcore killer robot fights, and to the rejection by his creator, Dr. Tanner."

My point being, I guess :tenma: 's been hit by the Dubbing Monster. I find "Tanner" to be a poor substitute for "Tenma", personally, but this might (hopefully) be a prototype.

I'm still confused about my stance on this film. I want to see it, but deep down I think they'll ruin Astroboy. Hopefully they call him Tenma and not Tanner..

They must be talking there time to make it if it’s going to come out next year or so, the graphics are going to be very crisp.

I was at first worried about this. I mean, an American film based on a Japanese character, can you say "Godzilla?" But after reading that, I think this might actually be pretty decent. I'm still holding off on an opinion at least until I see some trailers though

But really, I hope Imagi recognizes 2/3 of the moviegoers will be old fans and doesn't resort to immaturity.

True, true. I can't exactly call myself an old fan, but I don't enjoy that crude humor.[/QUOTE]

I must admit that I actually enjoy a little crud humor but everything has it's place and Fart jokes have no place in Astroboy.

Well, they were more for attacking when he was cornered. Now that I think about it, he and Uran used to be recharged by way of a metal rod up the-

Now just wondering, does anybody have a character they'd really like to see in the movie? I wouldn't mind seeing Astro's manga mother (in her usual robot role or perhaps as Dr. Tenma Tanner's wife. As well, Tick and Tuck, for no reason except that they used to have some pretty amusing supporting roles until their 1962+ roles became stuff like Guys in Background Moving a Chair.

Thnx for the welcome~!

Anyways, I don't think I'll be watching it. Astro vs Aliens... I didn't like it even when that was Osamu Tezuka's plot.
Besides, as far as I am concerned, Dr. Tanner + American version of a Japanese story + No Atlas + TMNT studio = Bad movie.
