I was wondering if anyone could spoil the fate of Denkou for me. I really like the character and am mainly just wondering if they die in any form of the series?

Denkou survives only in the 2003 series. :astro:

It depends on the language. In the French version of the 80s, she survives because the bomb didn't explode for an unknown reason (a Christmas miracle was mentioned).

Interesting. Does the French version show Tobio's death in the bed?

Nope. We see Tobio driving the car, then we see the panoramic view on the accident, and then it's the scene where Tenma is building the different parts of Astro with the other scientists (with the laser finger and the flying foot). We don't even see the dog sniffing Tobio's hat.

If it had, fafner and I would have been so traumatized that we'd never have been able to watch Astroboy again...

Actually, maybe not since neither of us started to follow the series right from the start. :p For those who do not know, the Canadian version (English and French, the latter ending in Europe) was heavily censored and they removed every bit of sadness they were able to.

And that makes us all sad
But at least we are sad as adults, so we can handle it :p

No, we are sad in an era of DVDs, so we can watch every version we want and we don't have to be sad! :d evil:

They didn't foresee that. They failed to hide us the true versions, muaahahahah :d evil:
