That's a beautiful statue although Astro does have such a sad expression on his face. :(

You should give him a cuddle and cheer him up AstroBoyGF :D

I wanna ask him if he's ever seen this program. This is obviously NOT ASTRO BOY, and I don't know why the Spanish dubbing studio would try something like this. I'm suddenly thinking of the "Robotech" tri-anime incident...

Yup, I'm still alive in spite of my sudden dissapearances. I have to say that I've never seen this. It looks like it's Mexican or Argentinean, countries where Astro is huge, and maybe they tried to cash on Astro's popularity at the time, putting his name on the film even when Astro isn't on it. More or less as they made with those very interesting comic-books. In Spain they made something similar with another classic manga: Go Nagai's Mazinger Z, which was a huge pop culture phenomenon on the country at the time (mid-seventies). Some smart cinema distributor took a sentai/kaiju eiga film called Mach Baron, changed all the names and sold it as a live action version of Mazinger, even changing the anme of the main carachter to Mazinger's pilot Koji Kabuto. But just judge for yourselves:

Here's Mazinger

And here's Mach Baron

Worst of all: when they made a local comic version, they used Mach Baron as a model instead of the real Mazinger!!!

And thus ends this boring dissert about how to cash without any kind of shame. :shifty:

PS: Sorry for the oversized image. I forgot how to resize. Somebody help me!

 Aha! So this is why I must maximize the browser to eliminate the horizontal scroll bars. Ataru, please downsize this image, or put a rhumbnail link to the full size image.

Sorry, Jeffbert, but the system doesn't allow me to edit it. It seems that after some hours, only the admins and mods are enabled to edit "old" posts. This or I'm even more clumsy than I thought.

Sorry again.

Yes that's true, it won't allow you to edit it (there's a good reason for that though, we've had problems in the past).

For now I've just replaced the IMG tags with URL tags, but if you provide a link to a smaller picture, I'll gladly switch the link back to the picture.

I think usually a 640 pixels width is safe.

LOL. :w00t: Anyways, I found two of the creepiest things EVER.

"Astro Boy 1.0" and "Astro Boy 2.0". Apparently they're little carved statues that judge your soul from afar.

This statue is horrible : it looks like a Borg, like we see in Star Trek !
