His height varies from story to story. Tezuka has drawn him at different heights compared to other characters. In one Manga there was a frame with Dr. Tenma complaining that Atom was "STILL" just 123 cm tall. (That's about 4' 0.5"). I also remember a story where he weighed in at 67 lbs. That's also about the height and weight of my Korean adopted nephew when he was 9 years old (which about Tobio's age).

It's funny you say that, because on the 2009 movie DVD, a bonus feature states that he is 4'6", but I have always disagreed, when I watch the movie, he seems to be just as tall as me, at 5'5", give or take an inch or two. Even funnier, I'm 13, just like the 2009 Astro is supposed to be.

Just the computer for the vision system would surely require a ton of energy, then there are the other parts of the brain; I assume separate computers for these functions because it seems that would mimic our own architecture; things work simultaneously.
Then, there are the physical demands for power, arms, legs, fingers, etc. Right now, the Lithium ion is about the best there is in eletric cells (batteries), but even it has limits and drawbacks. irate:
There are other possibilities such as the possibility of a platinum hydrate reactor system. With such a power system, a robot could go for weeks without needing to recharge. It would also provide enough power to run a plasma rocket system!

In my fanfiction he's powered by cold fusion using He3. I also gave him ion plasma jet engines.
