Shirubie, have you seen the movie, or are you planning to do so?

Saw it on the day it came out. I liked it. It was not perfect (President Stone is a very lame villain and they completely missed the point of Tenma's character), but it was still a fun movie to watch. I had a gigantic smile on my face when Astro started flying. The fight scenes were cool too. Hamegg is a better villain then President Stone (and why was Hamegg fat?). And not enough Dr. Elefun. He's one of my favorite Astro Boy characters.

I'm planning to buy it on DVD when it comes out.

I agree with you. I also really enjoyed the flying parts!

The first flight was very similar to the one in 2003. And I agree President Stone was lame and Tenma... well nothing beats 2003 with him. Hamegg was pretty cool, and the Peacekeeper seemed to draw some inspiration from Pluto. But the point of the film was to garner popularity in America for Astro, not to be perfectly accurate.
