Tenma is one of those "loner" people.

It was pretty much shown in the '03 series that people couldn't understand him.

in the 03 we weren't sure if Hoshie was alive or wasn't around or existied at all but otherwise, would he have continued?

I think that after those losses he'd want to be alone.

In the original manga Hoshie was still alive after Tobio died,she only died after Astro was sold to the circus

I'm pretty sure Tenma was a single parent in the '03 version, and was pretty much stated to be so in the '03 manga.

Having no one would drive someone insane, but I've always thought Tenma was always mentally unstable and that Tobio was the straw that broke the camel's back.

yeah,i think Tenma did love his life as a parent, I think it was a way for him to be segregated from the rest of the world and when Tobio died, yeah, it was a pin that popped the balloon and he lost it

but what about in the older series and version?

Tenma also seemed to be an single parent in the other series as well. Very much so in the 60's version because at the time of its debut, Tezuka hadn't created Hoshie at the time.

He also seemed to appear single in the 80's version, there's also that theory that he did have a love interest with one of the scientists at the Ministry, but this is purely fan-speculation.

yeah,in reality single parenting is very difficult and most parents tend to look for another partner (that i've been told) but that be wild story though but what kind of women would interest him,do you think?
