I think there will be a Pluto anime series, sometime before the movie, in the next 5 years.

I don't think there will be :cry: ... Well if they did make a new one, it probably won't be a good one... Have you seen the trash on TV lately? The cartoons on TV ain't very good. Probbly not as good as the 1960's or the 2003 :)

@Gotta- ME TWO!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

I think it would be an unconvinience unless they make the Astroboy Tezuka envisioned for the 80s (according to Frederick Schodt): a parody series with lots of wacky humour in the same vein of Don Dracula. The other producers stopped his plans, and we only get to see what it would come to be in the chapters directed by Osamu Tezuka himself.

A Pluto anime targeted to an adult audience would be a nicer idea. IMHO.

I do think there will be another series, but not until sometime in the 2020s or 2030s. I say that because of how long of a period of time passed between the current three anime series. There was almost 14 years between the '60s anime and '80s anime and about 21 and a half years between the '80s anime and the '00s anime. Since the newest anime finished only 7 years ago, I couldn't foresee a new anime coming out within this decade.

From here, I could only see an anime being made to premiere on a major anniversary, like the 75th anniversary of the manga in 2027 or the 100th anniversary of Tezuka's birth in 2028.
