April; I wouldn't be surprised if Jeffbert theory was correct, after all, we have to consdier the time period in which Astro Boy was made in. The early fifties and sixties probably didn't really consider that there would be a cross generation appeal for something like Astro Boy. "It's a boy's story, they only want a specific story" was probably the mindset at the time.

Admittedly though, it would be pretty cool if Tezuka were still alive to discuss this with us. Lord knows he'd probably use the internet as a tool to further pioneer teh manga industry, and use it to maybe learn more about his fans.

Satus; Yeah, that is strange, isn't it? I don't know, I think it makes sense for Hoshie to die before Tobio, as it would serve as a drive factor for Tenma to revive his most important person. On teh other hand though, I think it depends on which cannon. If it were 2003, I'd say it would have teh potential to go either way.

Allso, thank you both for your comments. I'm rather proud of those ideas myself, and I feel that logically it would be teh best way to incorporate Hoshie in without doing two things;

A) Making her the center of attention
B) Over-shadowing the father/son aspect the 03 series has going on

Ah yes, I just saw that post recently. I got to say, that;s actually pretty sad, though still a rather interesting take all at the same time.
