Imagine that this image is distorted by heat waves rising.
As near as I could tell, this guy's name is 'Omra'; comments from Strangewings & Astrobuddy will be appreciated.
I include this one because the 1/2 closed eyes are cute. But, the story is that a planet is approaching Earth, & its gravity is messing with Earth.
Skipping ahead, Atom & the man land on the planet, only to discover that it is artificial. Years before Lucas thought of a Death Star.
After traveling down a long elevator shaft, past many floors of mechanical complexity, they arrive in the habitable area, & find exhibits of Earth culture.
Hearing a noise, the man shows his true nature: he is a coward.
I thought from the episode's title that this alien would be named 'Gypsy,' but I heard 'Kipia-san' mentioned several times, so, while the synopsis says that Kipia is the planet's name, it appears the character bears that name.
As near as I can tell, this guy is plotting something evil.
Here are some weird robots:
The evil glint in his eye confirms my suspicion. Episode 38, Disturbed Small Planet (38, The Asteroid Menace) also features a crew out to perform an important mission, but in that one at least two of the crew were overcome by greed. I made an analysis page for that one, which is somewhere on T in E, but as the site was redone, my links are no longer valid. Yet, I admit I really do not know this guy's motivation.
Atom caught the guy where he ought not to have gone, much less at night when the hostess was asleep.
Kipia, hearing the commotion, comes to investigate. Omra persuades her the he caught Atom, up to no good.
She traps Atom inside a bubble, to keep him from supposed evil.
More to come--
