That's correct! The Japanese name for Little Astro Boy is "Robot Atom".

Come to think of it, I'm actually surprised that it's being released on a DVD, I thought that most new video releases these days were going BD.

Not sure about Japan, but I do know that American anime companies are still releasing a good bit of their anime onto DVD exclusively. Blu-ray releases are starting to become more common, but they're not commonplace yet.

Also, since this post will start a new page, I'll quote my previous post in this post:

"Shiyonasan" wrote:Well, folks, I'm glad to announce that we haven't seen the last of Little Astro Boy.

On November 3, 2015, Little Astro Boy gets it's first home release in Japan via Happinet. Although the DVD is Region 2 and only has Japanese subtitles, it will be bilingual, featuring a Japanese and English audio track. It will also be presented in 16:9 (widescreen). It is available for pre-order on CDJapan; you can get international shipping. The price is 3500 yen, or US$ 28.95:

There's also information about the release in the following link (it's in Japanese):

And now the DVD is listed on Amazon Japan, though for a slightly higher price:

One of the things I'm most happy about with this listing is that we FINALLY get to know what the name of those last two episodes were:

第1話 アトム、レーサーになる!?(Astro Becomes a Racer)
(Recycling Gone Wild)
(Astro Goes to Space)
(We Love Cleaning)
(Fly! Mitchy)
(Heart on Fire)
(I'm Moler,You See?)
(Astro and The 5 Adventures)

Also, here's a front view of the DVD:

Haha, cute little nerd. I wonder what, if any, dubbing changes would be made to the series... I'd prefer to watch it in Japanese, myself; English children's cartoons (particularly anime dubs, even if in this case it was the original) tend to be a little grating with the voices sometimes. The younger the audience, the more annoying the VA. I have no idea why that is... and this one is truly obnoxious.

I'm concerned about changes being made, though, because that means you can't just transcribe the English script and have it as subs for the Japanese dub. Although I'd imagine it would make a translation easier...

I'm thinking way too much into this, about a series I'll likely never get to see. Anyways, about Atom's VA: is this the one from the 2003 series? I don't know enough about voice actors to know any specifics; I might be able to recognize a voice every once in a while (especially if it happens to be Nobuyuki Hiyama screaming), but that's about it.

Nope, different voice actress. The 2003 series VA was Makoto Tsumura.
