did it work out ok?

You know what's funny...? I went to bed after posting this and decided to watch a DVD before falling asleep.

Seems my DVD player won't give me any image now. I might have to buy one myself! I've unplugged it and it still won't work, but I'll wait a bit. The last time I had a weird problem, it eventually started working again after a few days and trying it on other TV sets.

Wish I could get a DVD recorder with a hard drive that plays PAL. That would be exactly what I need, but I don't think there are any.

Muhahaha, I unplugged it again for a longer time (almost 24 hours) and when I plugged it again, it worked fine!

I've never, ever seen any other electronic device act like this! Stops working, unplug it not only for an few minutes, but a whole day, and it works again.
