im not a great fan of j-horror,as ivew never got the chance to see any...but for good old time horror, ive got a few sugestions:

all of the "nightmare on elm st." films (trust me on this one:it will keep you laughing all the while as well as being scary)
"night of the living dead" (1990 remake) probebly better then the 1950's version, even if i havent seen that one
any of the "saw" films (saw 3 is coming out to,whee!) yes,i know they're more thriller films...but there is no denying that manaquin needs his own film.

as for the grudge 2,i never even got to see 1.witch sucks.i REALLY want to see it.

The first Nightmare on Elm street is a classic. I saw it when I was thirteen and still get shivers! :p Although I wasn't too crazy about the others...

As for other horror films, I suggest some of the foreign ones (doesn't have to be Japanese....)

"Gin Gwai" (The Eye) - (Chinese, 2002)
"The Devil's Backbone" - (Italian,Guillermo del Toro, 2001)
"Uzumaki" (Spiral) - (Japanese, 2000)
"Suspiria" - (English/German, 1977, Dario Argento)
"Repulsion" - (French/English, 1965, Roman Polanski)
"Cache" (Hidden) - (French, 2005, Michael Haneke)

As for some American treats, I recommend...

"The Exorcist" - (English, 1973, William Friedkin)
"The Blair Witch Project" - (English, 1999, Daniel Myrick, Eduardo Sanchez)
"Poltergeist" - (English, 1982, Tobe Hooper)
"Alien" - (English, 1979, Ridely Scott)
"The Sixth Sense" - (English, 1999, M. Night Shyamalan)
"Dead End" - (English, 2003, Jean-Baptiste Andrea, Fabrice Canepa)

I got my copy at Wal-Mart. ;) I made my mom watch it with me just for fun. I don't need to say she ran out of the room 20 minutes into it. :p
