1) What ever happened to Tenma's wife in the manga?
2) What episode is missing from most releases of the 2003 series and why?
3) Find at least four :hyo: in the 1980 series.
4) In which country does the action really take places in The Human-Faced Rock according to the Japanese version?
5) We know Astro knows many languages, but we never actually see him using this ability, except...? :)

I will only indicate whether I know or not, so as to give others a chance. :p irate:
  1. I know
  2. I know
  3. Only 1 incident comes to mind
  4. I would need to watch it to answer this
  5. I would need to watch it to answer this

You got me on 2 out of 5, and 3, if you count that I only recall 1 on q 3.

It's the comic strip. ;)

Sparx wrote:(2) neon express becuase of the tube bombings in london

Wrong, but if you can find a listing of 2003 episodes (there are more than one on this site), you can find the answer. :)

There is another one, which was really banned instead of delayed. Clue: there are copyright issues involved ;)

I just found inspiration for some new questions, so I will now post my answers:

  1. Hoshie Tenma died in the hospital, shortly after her husband sold Tobio to Hamegg. I presume her broken heart had something to do with her illness.
  2. Eternal Boy, the 20th episode was not included in the foreign versions, supposedly because Disney held the rights to Peter Pan. Instead, the foreign versions replaced it with Dawn of the Techno Revolution, which was a recap of earlier episodes, & even included footage from episodes not yet shown in the foreign versions.
  3. Uran loves Hit Man had Uran skipping along, with :hyo: bouncing in front of her and behind her.
  4. Spaltz village, Deutschland.
  5. 84, The Dolphin Civilization had Atom translate the ultimatum that was in the clam. He also translated the note that was in Garon's nose. I know there are others, also.

You win, jeffbert! :)

For a list of :hyo: , see this post.

As for the translations, I take your word about the Dolphin Civilization and you are of course right on The Genie From Outer Space. There was also translations from ancient Norwegian in The World of Odin.

I had to clarify a few of the questions as follows:
  1. In the 80s series, how many episodes can you name that had treasure seekers in them?
It should include an expedition, encampment, or excavation. I exclude robbery.
  2. How many 80s episodes can you name that have humans committing crimes specifically against robots? Kids' teasing does not count. Black Looks ("Blackie Young," "Horace Hooligan," "Sharky Dirk") was one character who robbed & destroyed robots. Thus his story was one that featured humans directing their criminal activity only against robots. We could say that Guiss abused Atlas, but this is not the thing I want. I want another episode in which a human or humans seek out robots as their victims.
  3. Other than Atlas, name another humanoid robot in the 80s that thought all humans were bad.
  4. R-45 had Atom read the video memory from a wrecked robot, in order to see the criminal's face. Name another 80s episode in which this method is used.
  5. Incarnations question: in which stories (including series*) did Atom receive his parents? *Must state the version of the story. Thus, 60s, 80s, manga (naming publication helps).
  6. Extra credit: Which article of the 80s robot law makes it a capital crime for robots to leave the country without government permission?
  7. BONUS QUESTION: in the 60s, Atom sees a mother horse and its offspring, and envies the horse, because it has a mother. In the 80s, he sees Shibugaki's mother showering him with comfort after the incident at the amusement park, and he then desires a mum of his own. In the 80s what other thing or person does he envy, in which episode, & why?
