Watch Metropolis, no matter how old you are! There's some mild swears in the english dub, so you might want to switch to Japanese with subtitles, but that matter is greatly outshined by the quality of the movie. I have a friend who's watched it about eighty times, and it still affects her.

Are we still talking about big good or bad surprises that happened to us? My father took my 1995 Fisher-Price Van (which I haven't played with in years, but I still love it and it was in good condition), strapping a Jumping Jack to it and thinking it would shoot up the sidewalk when lit. Part of the van's carrying rack and bits of the roof's lower righthand corner were burned. It's not a lot of damage, but it still feels like an old friend got hit by a bus. :(

Agree it was sad about FAUNA'S 1995 Fisher Price- van - also wish Metropolis could had a happy ending- why do so many great movies have sadness in them- is that to make them more realistic?

Chateaubriand said that emotions are like a musical instrument where the voice for sadness is the same as the one for beauty. I think this sums up why so many beautiful things are sad. Would Metropolis be so beautiful if it ended well?
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
