I'm still intrigued with why they ended their calendar-making with 2012. Was calendar-making the task of one person, who died? Was this nothing-past-2012 phenomenon evident throughout their culture, or found in only one example?
I understand the concern with getting panic-prone masses worked up, but I like discussing the possibility that these ancient people had some kind of knowledge that would have caused them to suggest the changing of another "age." Thinking of how there are rumors/reports of finding things such as Noah's Ark, and what could be what we call "Atlantis" suggest not all of this is bogus.
As I mentioned before, I'm at peace with facing whatever comes to pass. But I am excited to have lived through the turn of the century, and will hopefully be here another couple years to see what comes of this ancient prophesy. As Astro would say: "Catch the Future!"
