Anime News Network says the 2001 bilingual edition was the remake, but it seems to have 700 pages (in 6 volumes) just like the new edition from Vertical, so could they be wrong?

By 'remake', are you referring to the Nakayoshi version?

Yes, Anime News Network says this:
Kodansha released the Nakayoshi version of the Princess Knight manga as part of its Bilingual Comics line in 2001, but this version has been out of print for some time.

Oh man, that reminds me!
I was in a comic book store downtown last summer, and this young guy about my age came in and asked the cashier if they had Vampires in stock. I had to jump in and tell him that it hadn't even been translate it yet, and he was pretty disappointed. On the plus side, we're getting closer to seeing it happen...Posted: Tue Feb 01, 2011 12:09 am
