These Gomu things are eating my soul... T_T

Postby The Tawashi Bus Hat » 13 years ago

I know Japan has really insane fads over novelty items. Erasers seem to be something that really pop up. I can honestly say I've seen erasers in the shape of toilets, plungers and poo. Besides those, I thought that the erasers in fun little shapes was a neat thing to collect little by little.

But, I have underestimated their ability to control human minds.

...

You know those little Gomu erasers? The ones with the REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING commercial you see all the time? The ones that recently made their way over to America?

THEY ARE EATING MY SOUL. NON-STOP.

Seriously. I bought a little mystery pack three weeks ago. ONE pack.

Between my sister and myself, we now have almost the whole first series...

THEY ARE EATING ME ALIVE WITH THEIR CUTENESS!

THEY EVEN HAVE DS SHAPED ONES!!!

.....*cough* Anyone else tainted by these things yet?

I don't use erasers. In fact, I don't use pencils either. I need only a keyboard and a screen

Luckily, we have been spared the hype in Europe... so far :p

I only get the cute animals, and a few music stuff like the guitars or drums.

You guys in the UK are probably next. B)

Series 2 comes out in May. I think I saw a whale. o_o Want.

@fafner - I only use mechanical pencils (and keyboard, that goes without saying), but I collect these erasers - not use them.

One cool thing about them is that you can interchange parts. If you have, like three amp erasers, all different colors, and you use the outside up, then you can switch it with another's outside part. Kinda cool, I think. (Although the bunnies look weird without their top half...brrrr)

Behold, my voluminous Gomu collection!

Image

They're not really even Gomus...they're the Japanese brand that were left out in buckets for a dollar each at the Toys R Us. I've been long tempted to look into a blind pack of Gomu, but I have a horrible past with collectibles.

(My 4th grade year was all about the original Mighty Beans. Man, what was that about?)

I kinda want that pig eraser...

DUUUUDE Mighty Beans were awesome when they first came out. I still got my special golden parrot one lying around somewhere...

I kinda like all these new little collectible things coming out recently. They're small, cheap adorable, and cheap. I love it.

(Looking into getting some of those Crazy Bones guys. Dunno why they intrigue me... I'll see if WalMart's got 'em next time I get a Gomu pack :D Trying to get another DS eraser!)
