I got a new cooler pad for my laptop the other day.

did a grocery run today.

my old laptop cooler sounded like an old truck engine rattling away, the new one is nice and quiet.

Is that a newly released set, Tetsuwan Atom? A friend of mine actually gave me his old DVD set, after buying the then newest release that had the episodes in chronological order. He even gave me his SC TZ Companion, to go with it. :p

I remember watching that with my parents on Halloween. Good times. That's an awesome case by the way.

What brand/model was that? I have a Zenith royal 7000 transoceanic that I got over 35 years ago second hand (think I paid $50 for it at the time). It's a heavy monster using 9 D cell batteries. It covers almost everything. (LW/AM/SW/FM/VHF weather) I think it's the best radio Zenith ever made.

the radio is a worldstar mg-6001.

I had to fix the power and afc switches but that was all that was wrong with it, $35.

Sounds like a good deal.

yah, but now, I may have goofed it up, I had this stuff that I thought you were supposed to use to clean the tuning capacitors, I misunderstood the instructions, it cleans and lubricates the mechanical parts between the knob and the cap, oops, ohh well, give it a few days and the tuner should be fine again, I hope.

even if it fails, I still can't buy the parts it is made of for $35 lol

update: I found out that the stuff I sprayed into the varicaps goofs em up a little more permanently than I thought so I had to grab a screw driver and using stations on known frequencies I realigned the radio, at least I got it in the ballpark lol

so so far so good, just gotta fix the PM mic and all is about as good as I can get it.
then to figure out how to convert it to run on AA batteries instead of C size, AA are cheaper and if I gang enough together then I can get enough power to make this thing work.

edit....... again: I thought that $35 was a bit hard on my budget but with all that I have learned so far it is well worth it.
