Japanese elementary school enrolls robot exchange student (GIZMAG)

Postby jeffbert » 11 years ago

Little kids are being introduced to a robotic classmate, & as far as I know, they are accepting ROBOVIE as just another student. 10 images are available, along with several paragraphs:

Can't believe that the day of Astro Boy technology are slowly inching in. I can't wait until the day robots and humans can walk without discrimination (same with the GLBT community).

That's really cool! I would love to have a robot student in my class. It would be so cool.
You're not a joke, you fit right in!
So shake it off, and give a grin. Don't be afraid to stand your ground! Crazy, noisy BIZARRE Town!

Instead of giving real kids with urgent need of education education, they give it to a robot. Well done Japan. You deserve a medal.

I’m not too sure what you mean by this. In Japan, elementary education is compulsory and 99% of the population is literate.

No offense, but why are you getting worked up over a science research program? Isn't introducing kids to robots and technology a GOOD THING?
