Sir Christopher Lee, known for countless movie roles dating back to the mid-1940s, has passed away at the age of 93.

I usually don't make threads for recently deceased actors, but this one is an exception. He was (and still is) one of my all-time favorite actors. If you want to see a man who built up an impressive résumé over the years, look no further than his.

Rest in peace, Dracula, Scaramanga, Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes, Death, Lucifer, Count Dooku, Saruman, Lord Summerisle, Ansem the Wise, heavy metal artist, World War II veteran, secret agent, Tolkien scholar, and multilingual man (he could speak English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish fluently, was moderately proficient in Swedish, Russian, and Greek, and "controversial", in his own words, with Mandarin Chinese).

He was the man with the golden gun, Gandalf, and maybe the master in Dr who iirc.

It is sad to hear. I had a bit of a nagging feeling for a while that he was unfortunately nearing the end of the line. He left off with a long life and a powerful film legacy however. He will always be the one and only Lord Summerisle.

May he rest in peace.

He's had a wonderful, long life and will be remembered fondly. I will always remember him as King Haggard from The Last Unicorn and of course Saruman.

Lee was a great actor. One of the very best.

I heard that he was in fact a cousin to Ian Fleming, author of the 007 novels and short stories. Also when he was offered the role of The Man With The Golden Gun he jumped at the chance partly because he was eager to prove he was capable of playing other kinds of characters besides the stereotyped world-famous vampire Count.

He will be sadly missed. RIP :(
