142 Minya's Star (-- --)
142 Minya's Star (-- --)
This is essentially a rewrite of IVAN THE FOOL, but with Lamp's help, it becomes far more emotional than IVAN. Granted, Lamp is not the type of actor we associate with sadness, but I think many will agree that his performance is Oscar material.
Here is our hapless reporter.
The captain.
The boo-boo.
The ensuing panic.
The lifeboat.
Three more castaways.
Higeoyaji will not be among them.
Atom & Ivan's new eternal companion.
& Lamp; bet you did not expect him to be an ojiisan!
O.k., all the player have now taken to the one remaining lifeboat.
This episode was not in the English language version, but if it had been, this would have been cut.
I cannot remember why I included this image.
"The air is all mine, get out there & suffocate!"
O.k., this guy picked up the pistol that Lamp dropped.
So far, this is a standard remake of IVAN THE FOOL; but there comes a twist.

I really have not been keeping track of how many remain, ASTROBUDDY.
"It's a monster!"
Here is where my questions begin:
Reel to reel audio recording in this future?
The prettiest Minya of all. For those unfamiliar with this story, Lt. Minya was the 1st person to land upon the moon, but her ship tipped over, & she became marooned.
She became ill, & died, but had instructed her robot Ivan to bury her in the grave in the background.
She had found two large diamond, & had attached them to Ivan's ears. But when he buried her, he put them in her grave.
Up to this point, one might think that Lamp was merely moved by the tragedy of knowing someone had died on this moon or asteroid.
After this, one may think that Lamp may have been related to Minya. I myself wonder about this, as he seems more emotional than he would have been otherwise.

In hopes of escaping this orb, had built a ramp to launch the lifeboat back into space. I do not know why they landed in the 1st place, & do not know about them gathering any more fuel, if that had been in short supply.
Oops, somebody wreck my Lincoln Logs project.
In cartoons, the laws of physics are often disregarded; thus Atom heard this spaceship approach. Actually, I may need to watch this one again to be sure.
##!!**!! I know I have seen this guy before, but I just cannot place the face.
Obviously the dirt bag has learned of the diamonds & the approaching rescue ship. Unlike other versions of this story (episode 10, & # 20/21 in the 1980s series) only the dirt bag scrambles to dig up the diamonds.
I recall that Lamp dies here.
In the end, the villain's greed cost him his life, though in this version, he had also killed Lamp.
