I got the hose and fittings I needed to turn an old 12 volt tire inflater compressor into a vacuum pump and attach it to a desoldering iron so I can suck the solder out of the joints holding parts onto circuit boards faster, I got almost a hole board striped when the iron fell apart, gotta figure out how to put the tip back on and expect it to stay there, the threads are striped on the tip and the iron body so I may have to use a set screw or a bracket of some kind.

Do you mean an iron with a squeeze bulb? I cannot see how you might attach such a thing. + you need a filter to allow air flow while stopping the solder chunks. I would like to see a photo of the finished unit.

Instead of using the upload option, try uploading the picture to another site like photobucket, twitter, tumblr or anywhere else and then go through the link option. Simply copy image location when you right click the image and paste in the the "insert image" command field.

I've had horrible luck with uploading images here I've always found it easier to just go about it the other way.
