It must be a special promo of somekind. The ads will be interesting to watch.
There is still talk about the movie. they seem to be courting the Adult Swim demographic. As prep for the film.

Actually, the 25th looks like another all-night Futurama marathon, so expect Astro Boy to continue with the next episode the following week.

But, man, this is awesome! :D

Well, they've been showing Gigantor and Voltron on and off for the past year, so I wouldn't be surprised they added Astro Boy to the rotating timeslot. Which version? My guess would be the 80s or 60s version. The 2003 version doesn't fit the theme.

I guess I'm going to be staying up late on Saturdays (not that it would be hard since I get off of work at around 11pm-12am ^^; ).

Fans where complaining when Gigantor premiered, but Adult Swim still airs it. Really, Gigantor and Futurama (sometimes Family Guy) are the only things worth watching on that channel at night. So they can whine and cry, but Astro Boy is only going to boost their ratings.

Oh, btw, hi Jeff. ^_^

Update :w00t:

Adult Swim has posted their new on-air & online schedules on their website, & they included the surprising addition of the classic anime series Astro Boy to their lineup. The series will air every Saturday night at 2:00am (Eastern/Pacific) starting July 14. The episodes will also be added to the Adult Swim website every week a night before they air on TV, so the first episode will be up online starting July 13.

I would be very surprised if they run the episodes without editing. The current lineup has shows no longer than 22 minutes in a 1/2 hour timeslot; Astroboy (60s) runs about 26 minutes for each episode. Still, it should be interesting to see how long this series lasts in the Adult Swim lineup. BTW, I have finally finished the frame captures for the 1963 series' 193 episodes. :astro:

Ok but remember time compression can be used on CN.
And also there were slight changes made in remastering. Things were added and taken out also perhaps.

well as long as they don't alter astroboy in any way, astroboy being in adult swim is fine by me.. ;)
